This week we have been learning about editing and how to be good editors. In Year 2 we need to suggest changes to work and correctly errors. We used the book, ‘The Very Little Red Riding Hood’ and edited it! We changed the incorrect speech because Very Little Red Riding Hood doesn’t speak properly and we added some time connectives to make it more exciting. Some of us even added exciting adjectives to engage the reader even more. Take a look at some of the work we’ve done!
Key Stage 1 had an amazing start the half term. We had a special guest called Anthony Pedley in who did an exclusive and very special performance of Roald Dahl’s Classic, The BFG. This was to kick start our special Roald Dahl week in school. Look how amazing his props were:
Keep looking this week for our own work about another classic, Fantastic Mr Fox!
In Team 3 we have some fantastic readers and we have the reading bug! Children have been bringing in their favourite books from home and we’ve been reading them at the end of each day. Kayla started the trend off with one of her favourites and since then, we can’t stop the books rolling in – WE LOVE IT! Take a sneak peek at some of the books we’ve read so far:
Team 3 – keep bringing them in!
Team 3 had their E-safety drop in this week. A huge thank you to Emily’s mum, Rijja’s mum and Isabelle’s mum who came to work with both Ethan and Isabelle.
We looked at how to stay safe online and not sharing our personal/private information online. We watched a video to show how important it is and even put some comments on our blog (super safely!)
If you missed the drop-in, don’t worry, there will be plenty to come to throughout the year. In the meantime, have a look at the video we watched to ensure you and your children stay safe online:
Thank you from Team 3 and Miss Francis!
In Science we have been learning about animals (including humans). This week, we have been looking at how we grow. Miss Francis challenged us to measure how tall we all are. We loved it!
How tall are you? Comment below!
